Accounting and bookkeeping
As an owner you cannot steer what you cannot see. The books need to be current, GAAP-shaped, and sitting in a system you can open on a phone.
We record the transactions — sales, purchases, bills, other income — into QuickBooks from mobile capture so the file is not a shoebox in April. We pay bills, follow vendors, and produce invoices or, for churches, annual giving statements.
Beyond bookkeeping: time tracking for teams, quarterly budgets and projections, balance sheet and full financials (income, cash flow, equity) that a lender or tax preparer can actually use. This is also how The Bookkepers sit beside Head Start as a family company — year-round, not just tax season.
Who it is for
Owners who are doing their own books at night, catching up once a year before taxes, or handing a lender statements they are not sure about. It also fits churches that need annual giving statements and growing teams that need time tracking and budgets.
What is included
Transaction capture into QuickBooks, bill pay and vendor follow-up, invoicing, quarterly budget meetings and projections, and full financial statements: balance sheet, income, cash flow, and equity. If the books are behind, cleanup comes first so the current year starts from accurate numbers.
How it works
After the intake, your consultant reviews where the books stand today: what system you use, how far behind you are, and what you need the numbers for, whether that is taxes, a loan, or simply knowing where the money went. From there you get a routine with a monthly rhythm and a quarterly check-in on budgets and projections. Clean books make everything downstream easier, from tax preparation to a business funding file, where lenders want statements they can trust.

Questions about accounting & bookkeeping
- Do you use QuickBooks?
- Yes. Transactions are captured into QuickBooks from mobile so April is not a shoebox. Quarterly budgets, bill pay, and lender-ready statements sit on top. The Bookkepers is the family company for year-round work.
- My books are months behind. Can you catch them up?
- Yes. Cleanup comes first, so the current year starts from accurate numbers. Your consultant reviews what you have and scopes the catch-up before ongoing bookkeeping begins.
- What reports will I get?
- Balance sheet and full financials (income, cash flow, and equity), plus quarterly budgets and projections, built so a lender or tax preparer can actually use them.
- Do you work with churches?
- Yes. Along with the bookkeeping, we produce annual giving statements for churches.
